Explore the thrill of the National Library Board's Tabletop Games Festival, an exhilarating week dedicated to board games, tabletop role-playing games, and more. The festival was hosted by Singapore's esteemed National Library on June 22nd and 23rd, fostering a dynamic community of players from all ages.
In the basement area, a free-play zone was set up where attees could engage with a diverse array of games designed by Singapore-based studios like Capital Gns Studio, Nekomancy, Origame, and Playlogue Creations. This included opportunities to delve into Magic: The Gathering, experiencing its popular trading card game.
The outdoor Plaza on Level 1 was transformed into a Pokemon haven, offering various learning sessions, free battle zones, and a pop-up store with merchandise avlable throughout both days of the festival.
In the visitor briefing room on Level 1, engaging talks and workshops related to tabletop role-playing games TTRPGs were presented by esteemed groups such as The Legitimate Business, TableMinis, The Alternative RPG Club, and Criticals Fumbles. Origame took a special interest in presenting their approach to integrating Singaporean themes into board games while Sharon Foong led a Magic: The Gathering deck-building workshop. On the second day, TableMinis mesmerized audiences with live demonstrations of Dungeons Dragons DD in the lobby.
Level 5 saw the Imagination and Possibility Rooms filled with diverse TTRPGs. The Tabletop Collective ran marathons of Dungeons Dragons alongside introductory sessions, while TableMinis provided beginner-frily tasters throughout the week. GuildHall showcased thrilling games like Call of Cthulhu and Zombicide Chronicles, and The Alternative RPG Club delighted attees with TTRPGs based on beloved franchises such as Avatar: The Last rber and Star Wars.
The Pod on Level 16 hosted a DD 101 workshop conducted by Sh from TableMinis on Day 1. On the second day, Singapore Wargamers and Hex and Counter Wargames offered wargaming experiences to enthusiasts while Ameba Games ran engaging Tank Clash sessions.
With its grand success, the National Library Board's Tabletop Games Festival served as a unifying hub for gaming aficionados from all corners of society. Whether you were a novice or an experienced gamer, there was something captivating and enjoyable for everyone at this event.
