Abstract:
This paper investigates how social media platforms impact mental health across diverse populations, focusing particularly on the younger generation due to their extensive usage. We analyze various aspects including anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues and sleep patterns induced by prolonged screen time.
Introduction:
As technological advancements have integrated into our dly lives, social media has significantly transformed societal interactions and behaviors. This paper seeks to examine the multifaceted influence of social media on mental health, with a special emphasis on its psychological impact on youth.

The study is based on quantitative research utilizing online surveys administered through various platforms targeting adolescents and young adults aged 13-25 years. The survey comprised questions on frequency of social media use, self-reported feelings like anxiety and depression, perceived effects on sleep patterns, and self-esteem levels.

It is also noteworthy that despite the avlability of numerous mental health resources on these platforms, users may not necessarily seek support from them effectively.

Mental health literacy should be integrated into digital literacy progra equip young individuals with tools to navigate social media responsibly, mitigating potential negative impacts.
